Compression Socks: Jon and I did a good bit of traveling during the 2nd Trimester. We went to Palm Springs, Las Vegas, and the Bahamas. The midwife at our clinic recommended compression socks for our long flight to California. I have loved having these decorative compression socks and try to wear them on any road trips and once a week at work. So far, I haven’t had any swelling.
Stretchy Dress: This dress is non-maternity and grows with you. The best part is you can wear it following the birth, and it’s flattering through all stages. Can’t beat this affordable dress that comes in several colors.
Heating Pad: So instead of having the usual back pain that comes with pregnancy, I instead had neck pain that began in the 2nd trimester. Having neck pain makes sense since I’ve dealt with the same pain in the past and have weak upper body/postural muscles. Being a physical therapist, I know what to do to get better quickly. For quick relief, I always turn to my moist heating pad that heats up in the microwave and cools down on its own. I also recommend this heating pad to all of my patients. It’s a must-have if you are pregnant or not.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask: Another side effect I have experienced during pregnancy is eczema on the left side of my face along my hairline and under my left eye. I would use this Mask at night and as my daily moisturizer. It also doubles as a face primer. I realized the more products I would use, the more irritation would occur.
Magnesium Spray: I’ve used magnesium spray since the first trimester to help with nausea, but I also think it has helped with headaches and leg cramps. I spray it on my calves before bed each night, which helps with sleep as well. Thankfully, I haven’t had any issues with headaches and have only had two instances of leg cramps so far.
Babymoon Swimsuit: I purchased this two-piece swimsuit for our babymoon in the Bahamas. It is excellent quality, comfortable, and grows with the belly.
Resistance Bands: These resistance bands have helped significantly with my neck pain by adding in postural strengthening. I also use them for glute strengthening. You can do so much with these bands pregnant or not.
Belly Band: I used this band under all of my dresses during the 2nd trimester to smooth out the awkward “am I bloated or do I have a baby bump” phase.
Neck Massager: You can tell the most significant issue I had during the 2nd Trimester was neck pain. This massager helped a lot with keeping headaches away due to the neck tension. You can also use it on other body parts since sciatica and back pain is a common complaint in pregnancy.
Maternity Leggings: These are an absolute must. Purchase the two-pack since you will catch yourself wearing these leggings every day.
