I always find this time of year so frustrating. This is when I’m over everything to do with the cold especially my winter wardrobe. Truth be told my heart was made for warm weather and spring/summer clothes are my favorite. I love all the bright colors and effortlessness of throwing on a sundress. Honestly, I always feel like a stuffed marshmallow in winter clothes. Can anyone relate?
I’ve put together 9 transitional outfits to ease your winter wardrobe into spring. These outfits will gradually prepare you and your body temperature for the warm weather that is hopefully going to come soon. All of my photos were taken by my talented friend @settlingsouthern. You can check out her beautiful blog here.
1. High Waisted Jeans & Crop Top
When it is not quite warm enough for full-on crop tops, all you have to do is combine a long sleeve crop top sweater in a bright color with a pair of high waisted jeans. You can complete the look with a cute pair of booties to top it off. The perfect look for “not quite spring but not quite winter.”
2. Sweater with High Waisted Shorts
This time of year it especially gets a little cooler at night in South Carolina. I’ve been loving pairing fun bright sweater with a pair of high waisted shorts with a fun lace detail. Add a pair of booties and you are good to go during this in-between weather.
- Hot Pink Ruffled Sweater
- High Waisted Black Shorts with Lace Detail
- Black Booties
3. Shorts, T-Shirt & Duster/Cardigan
Jon and I love evenings on the boat, but this time of year it’s very chilly. I always bring a warm cardigan or a duster to thrown on over a comfortable tee and shorts. Also, these shoes are perfect for the boat. They are a little dressy but still casual and comfortable.
4. Sweater Dress, Blush Moto Jacket & Booties
5. Denim Jean Skirt with Black Tulle
When I came across this skirt online, I had to have it. I love anything that is unique, and this skirt is like no other. It is the perfect transitional piece to add to your spring wardrobe. All I need is a fun concert to wear it to.
6. Open Back Sweater with Levi’s
I finally found the perfect Levi’s, and I’m obsessed. They fit so well and are super comfortable. So glad classics stay around forever. The best way to transition your jeans to spring is to add a bright sweater with a fun back with a lacey bandeau. Of course, Maui is the best accessory.
7. Striped Crop Top with High Waisted Jeans
This is my favorite outfit for spring so far. My favorite colors to wear are greens and blues, and I’m so obsessed with this striped greed crop top. These earrings also elevate any outfit. The earrings are lightweight and match everything.
8. Workout Gear with Cute Shoes
Having a cute workout outfit that transitions from the gym to running errands is a must. Add a pair of shoes with some personality, and you have a full-on spring look. I’m also loving this metallic trend.
9. Sweatshirt with Jean Shorts
I can’t wait to wear this outfit on the boat or evenings on the beach. Can’t beat a pair of jean shorts with lace detail paired with a comfy sweatshirt. Also, don’t forget your self-tanner. I’ve linked my favorite self-tanner that I’ve been using weekly down below.
Now that spring is officially here, we can start wearing all the fun clothes. Stock up on these unique spring pieces asap. I’m seriously so antsy for nicer weather and for less bulky clothes. I promise not to complain about the heat if it ever warms up. Until next time my friends, Cheers!
