Tropical Vacation Outfits

One of my favorite parts of planning a tropical vacation is planning my ¬†wardrobe. Nothing makes me happier than dressing up in something unique and flattering in a beautiful destination. I love to search and plan my outfits for trips, and I even enjoy assisting my mom and other friends with their vacation or event wardrobes. A co-worker asked me recently “How do you find all your cute stuff? I’ve looked at the sites you have suggested, but I’m not seeing the same thing.”

I am constantly looking and searching for the perfect look, and I order and return a lot. Ask my hubby. He freaks out at the amount of packages we have at our back door before trips. Most of the stuff I return, but it does make coming home from work more enjoyable.

I’ve had to resort to online stores since shopping has always been a challenge for me. Being petite makes shopping at malls or boutiques almost impossible. I have finally found a few online shops that carry petite clothing that works for me.

We recently returned from our 7 day cruise on the beautiful Oasis of the Seas. I received so many sweet comments, texts and messages asking about my outfits from the trip. The sad part is I didn’t even get photos of all of them. Major blogger fail. Below the photos I will link the ad to the website I purchased the outfits from.

This is one of my favorite outfits from the cruise, and it was also Jon’s favorite. The jumpsuit came in the week before our trip, and it fit like a glove except the pants were about 6 inches too long. I had to make a quick fix and ordered an iron on hem from Amazon. It worked like a charm. You can find what I used at this link here.

Jon and I celebrated our 3rd Anniversary during the cruise. We booked a private dinner at Chops Grille (a speciality restaurant on the ship) the night of our anniversary. This maybe weird, but I always wear something white on our anniversary. Usually white with a floral print. It was been a theme the past three years and not on purpose at all.

The second formal night, I chose to wear a two piece gown. I absolutely live for a two piece. Most of my tropical vacation outfits consists of two pieces. These Co-Ord outfits usually compliment my petite frame by covering up my lower belly and elongating my short legs. You can find both of these outfits at the ad below. The best part about these two outfits? They were both under $20!

Vacation Swimsuit Coverups

I love a functional and stylish swimsuit coverup. When vacationing in the tropics, most of your time is spent in a swimsuit. Before our trips I always lay out each swimsuit with it’s specific coverup. This is the most challenging part of planning out my outfits. With all the different styles of swimsuits, I have to make sure the coverup is appropriate for the style.

This top and swimsuit came from LuLu’s¬†and the shorts are from American Eagle. My all time favorite flip flops you can find here. I’ve been wearing this brand of flip flops for over 3 years, and they are supportive, stylish and most importantly comfortable for walking long distances.

The next few coverups and swimsuits all came from the same petite clothing store that you can find down below. This site has everything from petite to tall to maternity clothes. You can find everything here and all their items are high quality. I also love that they do two day express shipping for a cheap price, and it’s super easy to return.

Complete the Outfit

Every beach outfit needs a few accessories to complete the look. Big, bright earrings are my favorite way to jazz up an evening outfit. When spending a day by the beach or pool, having an easy coverup or kimono to throw on is essential. Don’t forget a hat to block the rays and a stylish beach tote for sunscreen and valuables. Can’t wait to start searching topical outfits for my next vacation.
